Why Place Matters...
From the American Journal of Public Health
"Life opportunities, including a healthy life, are largely determined either directly or indirectly by the contextual qualities of where we live. The last 3 decades have produced a large and rich body of research documenting that where we live, grow, work, and play determine risk of illness and individual actions taken to prevent or treat illness. Shaped by the distribution of Resources and Power, whether at the global, national or local level, social determinants of health are recognized as major drivers of health and health inequities.
As a result, at the forefront of contemporary public health discourse are complex questions of how to move upstream in community-and public-level strategies."

Free antigen tests from Public Health Dept!
Hi everyone,
I oversee our department's antigen test distribution program. We are reaching out to share that we have a large inventory of over-the-counter (also called 'home' or 'rapid') antigen tests that you can distribute to the community members/clients you serve. Tests can be handed out onsite at agency offices, at community events, provided to neighborhood action councils, added into food donation bags, etc.
We are already seeing COVID-19 cases on the rise...
