Why Place Matters...
From the American Journal of Public Health
"Life opportunities, including a healthy life, are largely determined either directly or indirectly by the contextual qualities of where we live. The last 3 decades have produced a large and rich body of research documenting that where we live, grow, work, and play determine risk of illness and individual actions taken to prevent or treat illness. Shaped by the distribution of Resources and Power, whether at the global, national or local level, social determinants of health are recognized as major drivers of health and health inequities.
As a result, at the forefront of contemporary public health discourse are complex questions of how to move upstream in community-and public-level strategies."

Mommy and Me/Parenting Classes
Hello Everyone,
First off, thank you all of you for the work you've been doing and for sharing announcements/resources with the group!
We have had a few members at LIFT asking about Mommy and Me Classes or Parenting Classes that are available via zoom.
Would anyone happen to have a lead for where we could refer our members to those classes/workshops? I know that Mag Place used to have these pre-covid are these still available now?
Thank you!!
