Why Place Matters...
From the American Journal of Public Health
"Life opportunities, including a healthy life, are largely determined either directly or indirectly by the contextual qualities of where we live. The last 3 decades have produced a large and rich body of research documenting that where we live, grow, work, and play determine risk of illness and individual actions taken to prevent or treat illness. Shaped by the distribution of Resources and Power, whether at the global, national or local level, social determinants of health are recognized as major drivers of health and health inequities.
As a result, at the forefront of contemporary public health discourse are complex questions of how to move upstream in community-and public-level strategies."

Family Requesting Resources for Child w/Autism
Good afternoon partners,
We received an inquiry from a community member that would like to be connected to resources for her and her 5 year old child who has autism. She is looking for information about activities that she can do with him at home and also needs support with acquiring materials. She is also looking for additional services; it has been challenging to receive services through his school given the pandemic.
